User Reviews about Toshiba Mini NB205-N325BL 10.1-Inch Royal Blue Netbook - 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
First of all, this netbook gets a lot of attention because it is very elegant looking. The white finish is very appealing and the keyboard layout with the lifted keys and silver finish has people drooling all over this wonderful machine. It comes with Windows 7 started edition which has been pretty good so far except for the fact that you can't change your wallpaper, but there is plenty of software out there which will accomplish that for you. The battery life is another plus for this netbook, which can last up to 8 hours! At first I bought it primarily for school use, but I'm so impressed with this little gadget that I prefer it over my big old desktop. Its great for surfing the web, operating simple software and games. If you want to look cool and use a netbook that will last you for a very long time without charging up, then you should get this Toshiba netbook. I got it and I have no regrets. -- My white companion
I bought this Toshiba netbook used for some overseas business travel. I am getting used to the computer. It has good battery life and is easy to drop into a carryon bag. I use the computer primarily for checking email and drafting sections of trip reports, and it has worked well for that purpose.
Here are some points to consider:
The accessories can up the price of the computer, when you consider an external drive and the basic needed software.
The computer is probably much slower than your desktop. Typing is no problem, but frequent interaction with the operating system or the internet will teach you patience. I do plan to increase the memory to 2 GB soon.
It is somewhat difficult to use the computer on a lap, chair arm, or something other than a hard, flat surface. You get frequent messages about the hard drive being moved to a safe position if the computer is not stable. I find it helpful to use a mouse at times, which requires a mousing surface.
The machine was driving me crazy because the cursor was moving around as I hit the touch pad while using the keyboard. There is a well-hidden setting as you work down through the touchpad menu that allows you to temporarily disengage the touchpad while keyboarding (and set the desired delay before the touch pad reactivates.) This setting has made it much easier to input text. -- Generally very pleased
This is a wonderful product for college students. It is made very well and is quite sturdy (considering I have dropped it on the floor a few times and it has worked).
Pros:
1. Great Battery life. It lasts very long when fully charged.
2. Light weight- great for students toting around books and such.
3. It works just great with the windows products such as word, excel...
4. Very sturdy.
5. The keyboard is not too small- just right. You can easily type long papers on it without cramping your hands.
6. It has a webcam.
Cons:
1. The web cam is not the best quality and tends to shut off in the middle of a skype convo.
2.After awhile, the mouse pad starts to flake out. (Ive had it for about a year and a half and its just starting to malfunction.)
3.The speakers are not very loud but keep in mind that it is a tiny computer.
Overall, I really love this computer and would recommend it to any buyer. When making your choice as to whether to buy a netbook or a regular laptop, remember netbooks are only meant for the basics- so don't expect any great speakers or fancy features. -- Great for college
i am very happy with my netbook. it looks elegant and attracts the attention, everybody ask me where i bought from, how much..
my only issue, when i use internet explorer, suddenly pages go back even though i don't push the back button,i checked touch pad but i couldn't find anything that will solve the problem. Hereby i use now Google chrome and have no problem so i thing there is a problem together with explorer and windows 7 starter or anything else. i am not geek. -- good deal
